Hi everyone! How are you all this morning?
Today I want to talk about base; particularly those products that I use to gain a flawless complexion that still looks like skin. I trust this combination on days where my skin is having a temper tantrum.
My skin definitely isn’t that bad, but I do suffer dry skin in the Winter, which means I get a fair bit of redness that loves peeping through a lighter coverage product. I also do get a few blemishes around my t-zone.
So without further adieu, let’s move on to the products that give me amazing looking skin all day.
Glorious Face Primer: £30
This is a silicone based primer that doesn’t feel like a usual silicone product. You only need a tiny amount, and it will blend onto the skin beautifully. This helps smooth out skin texture and blurs out any pores on your face. This primer acts as the perfect base for your foundation to cling to; I honestly feel like it makes a difference, and is worth every penny.
Touch Mineral Foundation: £30
2 drops. Honestly, that’s all that you need for the coverage in the picture. Just…. 2…. drops! And I have quite a large, round head. This foundation blends out really well and looks flawless. I used a flat-topped blending brush to blend out and then press into the skin with a damp makeup sponge.
Yes, this gives a full coverage finish, but unlike a lot of other products claiming to be full coverage, this one does not look like it is. It is a very thin formula that will cover everything that you want to hide, but it will still look like skin. When my skin is at it’s worst, I will reach for this. It is stunning!
Stay Perfect Concealer: £23
This is another product where a little goes a long way. All you need is a pea-sized amount and it will cover your under-eye bags and any blemishes. This does feel quite thick, but like the foundation, this blends out flawlessly without caking into fine lines. I warm this up with my fingers first before applying it to help it blend out further, and it really stays in place all day.
Behold Setting Powder: £30
The final product on this list is setting powder. I use this every day without fail. The product is finely milled, which means it is unlikely to sit strangely on your skin and make it look like your wearing a lot of makeup. It blends out beautifully, and helps provide that airbrushed finish lots of us want. I was honestly heartbroken when mine ran out last month, and I couldn’t afford a new one until payday. Well my makeup-setting game is back up and running now that I have this back (as much as I loved the CYO Matte Powder).
