July Favourites

Hi everyone, how are you?

I don’t know about you, but here in Durham, the weather can’t make it’s mind up. We’re having rain, sun and everything inbetween on one day sometimes! It’s really odd!

Since we’re halfways through August, I wanted to look back on last month over some favourites from July. It’s mostly makeup this month, but I do have the odd random thing thrown in.

Clinique Even Better Glow

Last month I stepped away from full coverage foundations and went with something lighter, covering patches that needed the extra help with a touch of concealer. Funnily enough, this lighter coverage seems to last longer than the fuller coverage stuff. I started using the Clinique Even Better Glow at the start of June, and it did take me a wile to get used to it; I was mixing it with the Younique Touch originally, but lately I’ve been applying it on it’s own with a damp sponge. The finish is beautiful and looks very luminous without leaving you looking sweaty. It’s lovely, and I’ve had a few compliments from people at work when I’ve worn this. So with that in mind, I have a fresh bottle waiting in my draw for when this runs out!

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer

This was such a massive favourite on blogs and YouTube back in the day, and I decided to retry it a few weeks ago. I don’t know if they’ve changed the formula when they updated the packaging, but it seems much creamier and less thick. This blends out like a dream, and still has amazing coverage. I tend to use it under my eyes and to cover any little spot scars around my chin. It works so well with the Even Better Glow foundation.

Younique Pressed Blush: Seductive

I think I got this in July’s Kudos; it may have been June’s. I’ve used the Pressed Blush formula before when they launched in February, and I love them. They’re pigmented without being overpowering and leave a fresh, natural flush to the cheeks. Seductive is a light dark pink (if that makes sense) and it looks stunning! It is a matte blush, but it works really well with your base to look luminous. It has never looked flat on me and it just looks like a natural flush to the cheeks. It’s so pretty!

Smashbox L.A Lights Blendable Lip and Cheek Colour: Hollywood Highlight

What a wordy name! But this product is beautiful. It’s a stick cream highlighter that has a very wet look on the skin. It’s the perfect companion to my base products and helps create a soft, dewy daytime look. Unlike a lot of other cream highlighters that I’ve tried, this one applies and blends out on top of powders, and looks amazing. It also gives you plenty of time to manipulate the product and blend it out before it sets in place, which I love.  The colour is gorgeous too! It’s that perfect pop of glow without being over-powering.

ONN Wireless Headphones

I got these at Asda to replace the awful ones that I got on Ebay. The old ones would last a day and need recharging, even when I switched them off properly. Well these ones are charged once a week, and last ages, even if I forget to turn them off straight away. They only cost £10, and they’ve been brilliant for my Aaptiv workouts. The wire is long enough to go round my head, but not that long to constantly get knocked out my ears by my hair. They’re brilliant, and if you can get them, I would. Don’t get cheap ones off Ebay!

Jeffree Star Jawbreaker Palette

Oh my God! How gorgeous is this palette. It is a colourful shadow lover’s dream come true! It’s beautiful! I love Jeffree’s shadow formula anyway, and his latest ones are so blendable and pack so much pigment without giving much fallout. I have been playing around with this palette a lot and it’s really helped me get out od my comfort zone. I don’t want to say too much because I’ll be reviewing it properly this month and I’ve put together a little look book for you guys with looks that I’ve done using this.

And those are all of my favourites from last month. There isn’t many because I haven’t really tried that many new things. I have been playing with some new products throughout August though, so next month’s list will be longer possibly.

Have a lovely day guys, and take care!
