Jawbreaker Review

Hi everyone and welcome back to my blog! Hi, how are ya?

Sorry, I had to do it once guys, I couldn’t help myself!

I have been playing with the Jeffree Star Jawbreaker palette for just over a month now, and it is a beautiful palette. I paid £54 on Beauty Bay, which is the easiest way to get hold of his products in the UK. This is the largest palette that Jeffree has released to date, holding 24 shadows, ranging from matte finishes to shimmers and full on glitter.

I’ll be honest and say, if you’re a neutrals girl, you’re going to hate this. Yes there are the odd gold and brown shade, but this is mainly for people who like to play around with bright tones. I actually screamed when I watched his launch video when I saw how bright this would be! It looks like the perfect palette for Summer.

The shades in the palette do range from true mattes, satin finish, shimmers and glitter. As like all of Jeffree Star’s palettes they hold a lot of pigment, however I don’t get a lot of fallout on my eyes; you get a little with some of the looser glittery shades, such as the dark purple, but it honestly isn’t that much. I tend to dampen my brush when I apply these shades, which reduces the chance of fallout even more.

Some of the mattes are a little patchy in the swatches and need a bit of time to build up on the eyes; the bright blue is the main culprit here. However, I don’t like to go full on with the colour straight away, and tend to build it up slowly. Apologies for the state of my arm in the swatches; I got sunburnt a few weeks ago and my arm has started to peel. Overall though, the quality of the shadows is gorgeous and they apply to the eyes like a dream!

I have tried to play around with this and create some looks that I wouldn’t normally do; some you may have seen a few of them in previous posts, but I look the look book gives you a few ideas on how you could use the shades in this palette.

Have you tried this palette? What were your thoughts on it? I would love to hear what you think.

Have a lovely day guys, and take care.
