Clinique Curling Mascara Review

I have a new favourite mascara!

My Younique Epic mascara ran out a few weeks ago, and I’ve been on the hunt for a new mascara, wanting to try something different.

I do have quite downward facing lashes, so I do use lash curlers to give my tiny lashes a bit of a lift every now and again. I purchased this because I do find that lash curlers were damaging my lashes a little bit, and wanted to see what effect a curling wand would have.

The Clinique Curling Mascara is available in every store that has a Clinique counter and usually retails for around £21. It comes in the traditional silver Clinique packaging and has a synthetic hair brush, which are shaped into a tapered curve. It’s a very unusual shape, but I like it!

Clinique claims that this mascara can help coax lashes to a long, bold, upturned look, without a pinch, pull or tug. Smudge, flake, smear-resistant formula holds for up to 24 eye-opening hours.

I’ve been using this for about three weeks now, and it’s definitely very different to other mascaras that I have used in the past. The tapered brush helps get more product on the longer lashes on the outer part of the eye, helping coat them a lot quicker without a horrible clumping effect. The smaller end also makes it really easy to catch those smaller lashes on the lower lashes and the inner part of the eye.

The curved brush also really helps curl the lashes. I use a twist motion, a bit like the one for the 4D mascara and it works really well with this mascara. The twist motion helps encourage the curl, and gives a very baby doll effect to the eyes. And don’t worry about the curl dropping out after a few hours! The formula of this mascara helps lock that curl in place all day!

As for the smudge-proof, flake and smear resistant formula? I’ve had no issues with flaking as of yet. I’ve also been going to the gym a lot, and I sweat buckets when I work out, which involves a lot of wiping around my eyes. This mascara doesn’t smudge and it stays put all day. Seriously, my makeup remover struggles to take this off at the end of the day; it’s absolutely brilliant.

So it’s probably safe to say that I have found my new favourite mascara, and I’ll be repurchasing again once this one runs out. I’ve just noticed that it comes in brown too! This might come in handy for my more neutral looks!

Which mascaras have you been loving lately?

Have a lovely day guys, and take care.
