The Day we Broke the Internet

Hi guys, how are you today?

So, as most of you probably know, I am a huge fan of Jeffree Star’s eyeshadow palettes. I’m starting to get into the liquid lip side of his company, but palettes are the way into my heart! So much effort and creativity goes into every aspect of his palettes; they are truly a work of art.

Another Youtuber, that I have watched for many years is Shane Dawson, and I was just as surprised as anyone that he wanted to become involved in the makeup business. However, I thought that it would be cool. Shane is a very imaginative, creative guy afterall.

I honestly couldn’t wait to see what these two creative geniuses came up with, and I have been hooked on Shane’s series, which dives deep into the complete process of idea to purchasing. When I saw the reveal photos, I knew that this palette would be right up my street. The browns, the greens…. that pink! Need it now!

So launch day arrived. In the UK, launch was at 5pm, and unless we want to pay shipping taxes ect, we have to use Beauty Bay. This normally isn’t a problem; they’re normally amazing and ship items to you within a few days. I’ve never had a problem before.

Well, I don’t think anyone was expecting this to be as big a launch as it ended up being. As a group, we broke the internet…… Beauty Bay, Morphe, Jeffree’s website…… they all froze. Beauty Bay went offline for a few hours, and it’s safe to say that a lot of people were not happy!

Myself, I was on the website at 5pm, and there were a few times where I managed to get on the site and add the palette to my cart. Unfortunately, that’s when shit hit the fan and it kicked me out. I was refreshing my phone every few minutes to see if I was allowed back on to finish my order. Nope. The site didn’t go live again until a few hours later and I managed to place my order in the final few minutes before the whole collection went out of stock. Needless to say, I got off lucky. I just hope that I receive my palette and they haven’t accidentally let too many orders go through, and they haven’t got enough in the warehouse to full fill the demand.

I’m sure that by the time this post goes live, I’ll have the Conspiracy palette in my hands, and I will be reviewing it shortly.

Have a lovely day guys, and let me know your experiences of launch day if you did go to purchase the Conspiracy collection.
