Hi everyone, how are you?
2019 is coming to an end, and I wanted to start releasing my beauty favourites throughout December. Frankly, anything that I try now, I have not used long enough to justify it’s entrance into a yearly favourites. Everything here, I have used for 2+ months.
In the past this has been a really long post, so this year I am separating them into three posts: Face, Eyes and Lips.
I’ll stop rambling on now, and actually get on to my favourites.
Clinique iD Dramatically Different Hydrating Jelly + Active Cartridge Concentrate for Irritation
I have used this moisturiser for a fair few months now and it is beautiful! I used to use the hydrating jelly on it’s own when my skin was at it’s driest, yuckiest feeling moments, and it used to really help add moisture back to my skin. Well, the active cartridges are just a brilliant addition to it. I have the green one for irritation and my skin hasn’t been as dry over the cooler months as it normally would be at this time. I do tend to get red patches on my cheeks and chin too, and since using this, my skin actually looks normal. I have loved using this, and when it eventually runs out, I will be purchasing a brand new one. It is worth every penny. I can’t vouch for the other inserts, but hopefully they’re just as awesome as the Irritation one.
Revolution Skincare Matrixyl Serum
Of course this little skincare miracle had to make it into my favourites. Luckily it hasn’t been discontinued…. it’s just doubled in price and now sits in Boots rather than Superdrug. Still worth every penny though. I have gone through 5 bottles of this over the months. It is such a good serum for fine lines. I use this all over my face but mainly concentrate it under my eyes. As some of you know, my skin reacts badly to most eye creams. So I use this, and my fine lines have eased up, and I have no weird scaly under-eye moments anymore. Thank fuck!
Uoma Beauty Say What Foundation
It took me a while to get into this one, but since sorting out my skincare, I absolutely love this foundation. It gives me coverage, but doesn’t look cakey. I finally sorted out my shade too; I’m Fair Lady T3N. T2N was just a smidge too light. I can trust this to last all day, and all my other products layer beautifully over the top. I absolutely love this foundation!
Clinique Even Better Foundation
Sticking with foundations, I also loved this one in the Summer months. My skin couldn’t really cope with thicker products at the time, and this looked beautiful. It is a light to medium coverage and very glowy. It lasts a long time though the day, and just really helps make you look healthy. I do still wear this in the Winter, usually straight after a night shift where I tend to wear more natural makeup.
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil
This was the year of setting powders for me- trying to find a one that didn’t give me ghost-face. I have found two; one can’t be in this post as I’ve just discovered it this month. The other is a really old favourite. Mineral Veil is such a light-weight translucent powder that doesn’t oxidise on the skin, and helps lock the liquid products in place. It is a lovely powder, which I will definitely be buying again one day.
Jeffree Star Magic Star Concealer
This is quite a new favourite, but I love it! All the reviews of this saying it was a creaseless concealer are true. I only use this under my eyes and to spot conceal a few areas but it blends out beautifully and lasts all day. I love the packaging too; it’s so pretty!
Younique Beachfront Bronzer
It’s been about 6 months since I stopped selling Younique. However I do still love a lot of the products and use them daily. One of them is this bronzer. It looks really natural but adds a soft shimmer to the skin. It looks stunning. I will buy this again off one of my Bombshell friends once this hits pan, but I might try a different shade ready for my holidays in March.
Bare Minerals Gen Nude Blush
I have two of these blushers and they are gorgeous! The shades look so natural and can be built up if you do want more of an intense pop. These have pretty much become my go-to over recent months; I rarely reach for anything else. These are pretty much fool-proof.
Benefit Cheekleader Bronze Squad Palette
I can’t believe how worn-out this palette looks now! I have dipped in so many of the shades! It took me buying this palette to understand the hype around Hoola Bronzer; it is gorgeous on fairer skin tones. And the highlighter is stunning! I will be continuing to use this, and will most definitely be purchasing those two shades as singles once they’re gone.
Jeffree Star Skin Frost Highlighter
The final product on this list is a highlighter that is almost the same size as my head! Seriously, Jeffree Star’s Skin Frosts are enourmous. I have three of them and they’re that big, it looks like they’re unused. I promise you, they’re used regularly! I love the shade Syberian Gold, which is currently in my everyday box, in an attempt to see how how it’ll take to wear this one down. I can’t see it being anytime soon. These highlighters are some of the few that actually last all day on my skin, which is a miracle in my job!
Thanks for reading my first yearly favourites list guys, I’ll be back in a few days for part 2.
Have a lovely day guys, and take care.
