January Favourites

Hi everyone, how are you today?

Today I wanted to share with you a few of my favourites from the past month. A lot of products are similar to ones that I have included in previous lists, so this one might be a little shorter than normal.

Morphe Blending Sponge

I bought this in the new Morphe shop in Newcastle, which was an experience (The shop is huge and a makeup lover’s dream). This sponge is really soft and squidgy, and blends out concealer so easily. It did lose a bit of it’s vibrant red colour when I washed it, but it’s a fantastic tool, and not too expensive. I absolutely love it!

Revolution Pro Brow Mascara

I mentioned this little guy in my yearly favourites, and I still love it. Lately, I’ve been using this on it’s own. My eyebrows have grown quite thick (still invisible) so with this I can brush in some colour and groom them. Honestly, for the price, I have enjoyed using this so much, and it will be getting repurchased as soon as this one runs out. I have actually come to prefer it to Benefit’s Gimme Brow. Yes, the packaging is simple, but the product does the job that it’s designed to do!

Smashbox Photo Finish Lash Primer

I bought this on a whim. My lashes are on the skimpy side again and I wanted something to make them look longer. This doesn’t ‘goop’ up my lashes and helps give them a subtle length without giving that heavy look to lashes that some lash primers can do. It works really well with another mascara that I’m going to mention in a bit to make the colour really intense.

Benefit Bad Gal Blue Mascara

I am in love with this mascara! I’ve actually been wearing this a lot more than my traditional black mascaras lately. Teamed up with the lash primer, this gives a beautiful bright pop of blue to my lashes when I wear neutral toned eyeshadows. Although I did team this up with a bright pink shadow the other day, and it looked awesome! This does a lovely job at fanning out my lashes to make them look thicker and it helps lengthen my lashes slightly too. It’s so lovely.

Jeffree Star Magic Powder

This powder is fantastic! You only need a tiny amount and it will set your whole face. I’ve had this pot for a fair while now and I’ve barely touch the surface; it’s going to last me ages before I need to purchase another setting powder! The shade Beige is perfect for me and doesn’t oxidize on my skin. It doesn’t look cakey and helps my foundation last all day. I love it!

Revlon Photo Ready Face Primer

I bought this in a discount beauty store near where I live. I actually really love this. It does a great job of blurring out my imperfections on my face and helps cover up the dry patches in a flattering way. I’ve started using this with a new foundation and it works really well with it. I use the pink one, but it looks like it’s being discontinued. If anyone uses the white version, is it just as good?

Amazon Kindle Paperwhite/ GoodReads

Let’s interrupt the makeup favourites for a moment and mention my reading obsession this month. I have challenged myself on Goodreads to read 60 books this year, and so far I have read 12. My kindle helps me carry several books at once without taking up room in my bag with a hefty book. To help me in the challenge I am in a few reading challenges to help me find new authors and books to help me get out of my Sarah J Maas hangover. So far, I’ve discovered a few books that I really love, and a few that I would never touch again!

Morphe x Jeffree Star Palette

I’ve been trying to use a few of my more neglected palettes this month, and I rediscovered my love for this palette; all the berry tones and neutrals. I love playing with this! You can create natural looks for work and actually add pops of colour on your days off. The palette is really blendable and lasts all day. I have loved playing with it again. I’m actually tempted to buy a few more Morphe palettes on day.

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick: Calabassas

Yes, I’m still obsessed with this formula; nothing has changed there. However my favourite shade this month has been Calabassas. I’ve worn it almost everyday day this month and I love how flattering the shade is. It’s a gorgeous deep, rosy pink. I love it!

And those are all of my favourites from the past month. What products have you been loving this month?

Have a lovely day guys, and take care.

Bye for now!
